window crank

    i have never posted on a forum before, so i hope i do this right!! i am trying to get a window crank off of a 1972 maverick. one post said remove a sticker and take out the screw, but ours doesn't seem to have a sticker. any advice?

    On the chrome end, it's a metal sticker about the size of a nickel, covering the screw.

    I am suprised to hear you still have the sticker.. Usually they been poked in the center or removed.. #2 Phillips screwdriver.

    i am pretty convinced that there is no sticker. it definitely looks like a molded piece, and there is no edge that i can get a fingernail or blade under. i can put my hand in a hole in the door panel and feel that there is a head of some kind, but it is not a hexagonal or phillips. could it be an allen wrench? :huh:

    Possible that it is an aftermarket handle that attaches differently than the OEM handle.

    Welcome. I didn't think there was a metal sticker there either until I started stabbing it with a screwdriver.

    that's the ticket...poke it in the center with a #2 phillips screwdriver...:yup:
