I have a 95 302 5.0 already machined and ready to be put together i will sell and you could have a rebuilt engine for about the same money

I wanted to add that some late 97s will have the P heads ... it was a mid-year change, so be careful.
I would imagine any 302 JY motor will be high mileage...so if you aren't planning a rebuild, it will be a crap shoot... (my '05 LSX, 10K motor...$600) ...
I bought 5.0 engine monday and sold it today glad I did cause i didnt even need it or know why I.bought it.. I need to stop being a pack rat
I paid $250 for a 5.0 long block with tin, balancer, distributor, flexplate and timing cover. It would have run but it was ready for a rebuild.
I paid 300$ for a corroded looking 5.0/aod combo with everything....dist-to oil pan trans everything... I used the block, crank, and rods-junked the rest.
I bought an '89 E250 van for $300 and drove it 50 miles home. EFI 351w/ c6. Don't really care for the efi and the c6 is overkill for a Maverick. But the engine runs good and vans make good storage buildings.
No need to hijack when a 2 second google search finds the answer. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/733179-gt40-head-id-how-to-id-non-p-gt40-heads.html We also have a search bar on this forum, it's up top next to the new post link.
im going to rebuild a 302 the 6cyl just isnt cutting it and from my dads work said he wants to give me a pair of 351 heads would those be good or should i just stick with the 302 heads i have.
i paid 500 for the whole drive train out of a 97 mountaineer. the guy just had the trans rebuilt before his daughter rolled the truck.
I paid $300 for a rolled 94 Bronco that had a roller 5.0 and MAF. After I sold what was good, scrapped the turd and even gave my dad the aluminum wheels I was ahead $200 and had a 92k mile engine for the Mav.
