So at work today i came across a complete electric steering column that i can have for $40 if i can get it to adapt and work with the maverick. I believe it came out of a Hyundai Elantra or Sonata. So tomorrow im taking my column for the maverick to work tomorrow to see what we can come up with... ill keep you guys posted with how it turns out.

im very interested in seeing the results.
is this a speed sensitive system or just a simple electronic assist system.
most modern systems will reduce the amount of assist as the speed increases. these are hard systems to adapt due to old cars not having speed sensors.

its just an electronic assist, after looking at it today the issue im having right now is trying to keep the maverick turn signal housing (the part of the old column that holds the switches) im trying to adapt that to the new column but right now with what id have to trim on the old column to get it to fit would then in return take away all the room for the switches.... so now im trying to get my hands on a factory switch set up to see if i may be able to rewire a new set of switches in to the old connector so it will still use the factory connector for the wiring portion, and hopefully ill be able to put the old turn signal arm onto the new switches so it still look original at first glance.

Interesting! I've been thinking how it would be to adapt the dodge hydro/electric pump like from a 2012 grand cherokee or 300
