There is Hercoliner, Rhinoliner, etc. I have a Jeep Wrangler that i have been welding in new floors, and will be "lining" it with something when done. I will be sanding it all down, prepping it and trying to get off all the rust, and then putting on some sort of metal conversion, or metal treat down, then putting the "liner" on the floor and the frame. In your travels, what have you used for metal prep and liner, how much was it, and were you happy with the end results? May not be Maverick related, but it is paint related, and can help anyone in their quest to "line" the floor boards of any car.
I would never use any rubberized stuff on my car again if I plan on keeping it. I hate it and the stuff is a damn mess if you try to remove it.. Grinding, wire wheeling or stripper, it's a mess. From now on for the underside of vehicles that won't be painted body color, I will be painting with por-15, and with that I wiped it down with thinner, then when it came time I used proform wax/grease remover.
We do JK8 conversions all the time at work and send them out to Rhino-Lining to have the inside of the beds coated. Looks great and tough as nails. The self application stuff I've seen doesn't seem to be very good quality. I'd have it sprayed personally and you'd never have to worry about it again.
I've had good experiences with both. The Rhino looks great but is real slick. The Linex looks, umm OK, but it's somewhat tacky so stuff doesn't slide around as bad.
took it back...the Guy told me to get a can of flat black spray paint and touch it up... the Rhino Lining is put on cold...the Line X is hot sprayed...
