I have recently purchased a 1972 Ford Maverick. The only problem with this car is that it needs a new gas tank. I know there is no reproduction gas tank made for the 72 maverick. I have heard of people using the spectra premium F-30 tank, and use some type of mounting straps to make it fit. Are there any other ways to use a gas tank for this maverick? Does anyone know the name of the straps? If you can get back to me that would be a great help for a 16 year old trying to restore his dream car. Thanks!

LOL I should have bought one that just needed a new tank...

Mine already had a new tank, paint, and interior but still needs brake and front-end work, plus the water pump is leaking as well as the timing cover is spewing oil from the corner where it meets the oil pan...

I want to swap in a alum headed 5.0 so haven't messed with the 302 but am begnning to think I'll go ahead and fix the issues and swap later...
