okay, so I have a 70 maverick which now has a 302 in it, pretty much looking for a v8 throttle cable! would I just need to buy a gas pedal with the later style end on it and a lokar cable or what!? and if so where can I get the lokar cable for these cars? thanks

If you use the Lokar cable you will need to fabricate a piece to attach the cable to the stock pedal assembly or use the adapter from the Mr. Gaskets cable kit. I would recommend the Mr. Gasket cable, but it is not near the quality of the Lokar unit.

I used the stock retainer, on my Lokar cable, works fine.

Used a 74 pedal assembly in my 70. Maybe that is why I needed the adapter. Either way you can't beat the Lokar cable for quality.

lokar bolted right up to my 72 comet 302 edelbrock aftermarket carb but stock pedals

I bought mine at a local speed shop called tognottiesautoworld Im sure you can find them online.

I just read the package and it said universal so I went with it and it was a breeze to install. it might have taken me all of 10 minutes :thumbs2: very nice looking unit also. it bolts to the corner of your carb and is already correctly spaced to line up with the linkage

best $35 I ever spent

okay, thanks guys, one more question, is it a maverick specific cable, or fits most pedals that I should get?
