Looking for suggestions and of course smart ass comments.
1971 maverick, 331 engine and T5, lots of other stuff. Used to drive it every day, used to drag race it, did 2 Silver State Challenge races with it.
And now....I'm trying to see if I should sell it, turn it into a really gas friendly daily driver or electric? Not gonna race any more....
    Open to ideas and suggestions...
My always good friend and evil car genius Bryant recommended maybe an ecoboost engine....
Again, just trying to be good to the environment and build something that will be economical....

an eco boost v6 would be fun in a mav imo. plenty of power, awesome fuel milage. Wish I could afford to get one in.

Just keep it, and don't do anything to it, what do you need economical for? You have a smart car.

Why don't you keep it the way it is and just get a new car for dd duties?

I'm debating between daily driver or not. Love to see it on the road, but more exposure means greater potential to be hit by another driver, (I've seen more than a fair share of idiots from all over the country concentrated in DC, i.e. no turn signals, texting, every man for himself in traffic/no courtesy.)

    But definitely keep it!

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Part it out like I'm doing! is that smart ass enough? :D

Turbo a 2.3, that would be fun. Even a little 6262 will net over 600HP.

buy another mav or comet thats not such a nice car with a I6 if you want something that isnt going to break your heart completely if it gets smashed and it will be more efficient than the v8

Why are you not racing any more?

If drag racing and SSC are out then Id cut out the cage and just give it the restomod treatment to make a nice daily driver. Power plant is up to you but I wouldnt change out the 331. Just get the EFI put on it and drive reasonably. Youd never sell it and get what you would consider a decent price.

You could always give autocross a shot. Its lots of fun and safer than driving thru the mall parking lot at Christmas time.

The 2011-2013 Mustang v6 would make a neat swap in a light car like your Maverick. They are rated at 31 mpg highway in the Mustang.

Sounds to me like you don't want it anymore, tell you what I'll do since I'm such a nice guy. I'll swap you my Comet for your Mav.

I was actually thinking about that....I thought maybe I'll see if someone wants to trade me their stock 6 cyl for mine.....or I'll part it out and turn it into a daily driver again with good gas mileage....

or I could have Bryant finish the supercharger, EFI and then sell it....

how much you guys think I could get for the mav?

I seriously take you up on that, 'cept mine is a 302 with a t-5. If it helps it came from the factory as 170 I6 with 3 on the tree
