has anyone seen an awd mav? ive heard there were a couple awd mustangs.. can you do that to our cars without just putting the body on a different chassis?

you know how they make baja bugs and make offroad type 3's? is there anything like that we can do to our cars?

As close as you'll ever see unless some Maverick fanatic hits the lottery.

Unibody cars with large spring towers do not lend themselves to such mods without serious cutting and fabrication...

Or as seen above plucking the body down on a FWD chassis...

aahh i see. thanks for the info you guys.

last night i was looking at some photos of rally comets and falcon from the 64 east africa safari race. and i was just wondering.. could i use my car as a budget "rally" car just flarking around when we go to the desert? its still an open diff so what can i expect? i know this is probably a stupid question. lately ive been looking at subaru justys and brats. kinda cool awd cars.

when new replacement springs in a maverick they raise the car so much that i could be off roaded!

put a locker into the rear end. some skid plates to protect the oil pan and the transmission pan and you could have some fun.

i suspect the rear shock mounts wont hold up very long. some really good shocks help a lot when going off road.

i would consider a roll bar would be necessary also. if your going to roll your car over its going to be off roading.

notice the bashed up lower valance on that maverick, its all bashed in. i would expect the car would wasted after only a few off road adventures.

i have a set econoline springs in the garage. i was only gonna throw 3 of the leaves on there, but now im thinking about all of them. ill google how to do skid plates, but do you know of any that have done it here on the forums?

when i replaced the rear shocks the other day, i noticed that the upper shock mounts have been replaced. stock ones are spot welded i think. these were bolted in.

would a spool work just as well as a locker for offroading? i know about the street manners. (buddy has a minispool in his stang)
