This discussion of polishing the aluminum trim on our Comets & Mavs goes way back in some of these threads. Now, what is the final verdict? Does the hair and grease remover still do the job of cleaning the dull aluminum of the coating that comes from the factory? Does it do any damage to the trim, long term? Finally, am I to polish it with the Happich polish or clear coat it afterwards? What works better? My Comet GT is in the paint shop and I want the trim sparkling soon! Thanks!

For me, the hair and grease remover worked on the tail light bezels at removing the anodized coating. I tried it on some headlight bezels and it actually ate through the metal. I polished the tail light bezels with a bench top buffing wheel and they look great. All in all, I think using steel wool or fine sandpaper would work just as well and be easier to control. Just my experience.

On my Blue Grabber I polished all the trim with a 3000 grit sanding disc on my DA Sander, worked great!

I've got to do my rear window trim. I've used Mothers aluminum polish with good results in the past.
