Hey guys, so I've been enjoying the HECK out of using my tablet for GPS and dash-cam duties. I was using SpeedHUD because its got a clean simple interface, and a nice accelerometer display. But it's a bit slow to update the speed when you first get going, usually I'm leveling off by the time it stops saying 0, but that accelerometer sure jumps up.

So I got this other app that is supposed to be sensitive enough to use for seeing how fast a person is going walking/jogging/running. It's called Ulysses Dashboard I think, I'll look and edit later. Anyway this one is sweet it updates very quickly and has a bunch more cool stuff going on other than just speed and acceleration. Like apparently my 0-60 time is 8.2 seconds when I was getting on the freeway the other day. I didn't even tell it to track it, just did it on its own, so now I kinda want to actually TRY lol.

Also using a cool dashcam app, they just updated it and added a feature on their site for uploading the video so that it shows your speedo info and the gps map of the route you drove. I think on Saturday when I drive my wife to work I might record my sunrise drive across the Portland West Hills and upload the video if anyone is interested. If anyone is familiar with Skyline road in Portland, its a fun little run twisting across the top of the hills.

Anyway just thought I'd share and maybe see what other people are using in case someone has something better.

That sounds neat. I'd like to see that video. What kind of phone is it?

Take a look at an app called Torque. It is very configurable. Tons of skins and a driving cam option as well.

Been using aDyno for a couple years. It does a lot and can be used as a radar gun at drag strip. Using gps qnd accelerometer it starts recording when you hit the gas and shows 60 ft times.1/8.1/4. and trap speed.

sometimes works well but sometimes it seems too sensitive and acts buggy.

I looked at torque, but I've got a stock motor so it seems a bit useless to me.
