Hi guys. My car has 4 lug nuts on each rim And every where I look I'm getting rims for 5 Lug. Then then I look up a maverick 4 lug bolt Pattern all I find is the 5 lug. Can anyone tell me what the bolt pattern is? why it's a 4 lug Does it mean the car came with a small motor or is it normal Or has been swapped out for some reason? Im 22 and this is my first maverick. If you have Any more info that would be great. Thank you to all that replay.
5-lugs didn't start until late 1971, and only on the 250CID and 302CID equipped cars. In 1973, they ALL got 5-lugs, but they were still drums on all four corners. Your car is a 1972, so if it has a 200CID, then the 4-lugs are correct. Do a search on this site for 5-lug conversion. 1976 and 1977 were ALL 5-lug disc brakes up front, some even had power brakes. And the 4-lug bolt pattern on these cars are 4 x 4.5", which is slightly larger than the fox-body Mustangs and Pintos. It makes it hard to find a decent wheel. If you're not set on keeping the car original, I would try to find a 5-lug donor car and do the swap.
Maybe this site can help you out,My Car is 4 lug also http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-...dSpreadInch=&StudSpreadMM=114.3#axzz2dkFk4Ecb
from Northeast Pennsylvania When the Maverick was introduced in 69, they had 4 lugs on every wheel, small rear, 6 cylinders, mine even came with 13 inch tires on it - nothing heavy duty - As the car progressed, got a V8 engine, upgrades naturally were made including going to 5 lug wheels, 8 inch rear, front disc brakes etc. I know you can convert your front drum brakes/4 lug hubs over to disc brakes/5 lug hubs simply by finding a parts car that has the 5 lug/disc on it already on it and swapping everything over to your car
That's great thank you so much. It's hard for me To get info every one I know wasn't even thought of when this Car was made. My dad was never into cars so there's no help there too. Ok. I was told that it had the 250 and it had the stock 250 air cleaner. is there any Way you can tell by looking if its a 200 or a 250
Ok. Thank you. It is a 250. I remember when I pulled The transmission I had to take the starter off from the Bottom. Thank you your info is really helpfull.
