Fact is that the 70 is a nicer car. The 74 looked great and was a lot of fun, but the car came from Detroit and had a lot of rust repair that wasn't done right. Was planning on keeping both on the road though.

Really liked the color combination on the 74, it certainly looked like a nice Maverick.

Pressure washed a few more steering parts and the '96 Ranger starter wiring harness I'm gonna use for the mini starter... I'll give details once it's in the car but it's a breeze to connect, plus length seems to be perfect (fingers crossed on that one)... I've already tested it out on the old 302 when it was hanging on the lift... Also painted some more on the undercarriage, getting close to installing parts...

    Entry #2 for today...

Just finished rebuilding the power steering valve and knuckle(stud) assembly... Luckily I had a second valve that supplied some of the pieces that were questionable, got my fingers crossed...

Still I suspect it will be better than before, was weeping badly and steered hard to the left, at least everything inside is moving freely again...

It was a one owner low mileage car. Looked at over 100 mavericks, comets, falcons and when I saw this one I had to track down the seller. Heartbroken.

Got rid of the cutouts and ran 2.5"pipe to a pair of flowmaster knockoffs dumping behind the axle. I should have done it like this years ago, drivability has gone WAY up. The coolness factor of the open headers wore off about an hour after I turned the cutouts open, and they rattled like crazy when closed.
