I got a Deluxe Marti report for my 77' Maverick.
Based on the dates it seems like it was close to the end of the production line?
It doesn't seem overly rare except for that only 55 were ordered with the same Paint/Trim codes. I bet a good percentage of those are in junk yard heaven now.

I see that your car sat around for 3+ months before it was actually sold - maybe it got caught up in the end of the model run where customers were already looking to the new future models - I bet the dealers offered deep discounts to get the last of any model run off of their lots :)

Thanks for sharing your Marti Report! Your car sounds like a sharp looking car with the buckets, wide molding and sport mirrors. I'm actually a bit surprised it didn't come with a vinyl top.

I have taken the liberty of adding your VIN and username to the VIN Thread.

Usually a production year ends mid July, assuming that was case for '77s built at KC, then yours came down the line approx a month before US Maverick production ceased... Likely the Canadian production ceased approx same time...

Convenience Group ... I think that is extra interior lighting in the footwells from under the dash. Not real common ....

From a 13 page piece of Ford Literature I had on 1977's (attached):

    Convenience Group:
Included in this practical option group are an outside left-hand remote control mirror, inside day/night mirror, colour-keyed deluxe seat and shoulder belts, a cigar lighter and interval windshield wipers. Interval windshield wipers reduce smearing and dry-wiping in periods of light rain, mist or car spray. they can be adjusted to wipe at intervals up to ten seconds.

    Light Group:
This option group is designed for both driver and passenger convenience and includes an ashtray light, glove box light, instrument panel courtesy lights, and a dual beam map lamp. Also included are engine compartment and luggage compartment lights.

I found a 77 Mav last year that was really loaded up with options and it had the underdash footwell lights. I got them, but they were rough, partially broken housings. I didn't look into it any further than that. It is annoying that I was probably that close to interval wipers and didn't look at that closer.

    Dome light with map light.
Special wiring harness for dome light.
    Footwell lights.
    Footwell light harness.
Special adaptor harness in order to splice in footwell harness.
Trunk light (Idiot painter cut into it)
Hood lamp (Notice tab in hood for mounting not found in '71 hood.)

The '71 Comet GT that my uncle just got last weekend has the 'Convenience/Visibility Group' according to the Marti Report that we just got.

I should have clarified that I meant the "light" group is what I have found rare.

Anybody know what the "visibility group" is.....as I don't think this is the same as the "light group".

I was going to ask the same thing. I can check his car out tomorrow to see if it has the footwell lights or any other things like it. I know the car has a day/night mirror.

I checked his car today and didn't see any lights for the footwells.

    Wow

Gosh that thing is loaded. Also shows that Maverick production did not end early so Ford could get the Fairmont set up. I had always heard that Maverick/Comet production quit extra early for the changeover.
