I'm in the process of purchasing parts for 1969 351w to put into my 1971 302 Maverick. I was going to purchase a water pump but the 1969 pump is different from the 1970 and up. Looks like the height from block to hub is different between the two. 1969 is 5.42 vs 5.70 for 1970. Which one should I get if I'm going to be using my existing power steering pump and alternator? Thanks, Mike

Unless you are using a '69 or earlier radiator you don't want the '69pump as the inlet is on passenger side vs driver... Also the original '69 balancer will have timing marks on driver side vs passenger side on '70-up, plus I'm 99% you'll need a '70 up 351 P/S bracket amd maybe the alt as well... The '69 351 used a small adapter bar that located bolt holes so the 302 alt bracket could be used...
