I bought this dodge ram a while back and im to the point where im about to fix the problems.. Transmission.. easy i have pulled many of these dodge transmissions... But my problem is when you go to start the truck it takes like 10 minutes to get the key to go in there right a lot wiggling.. and once u turn it off.. Radio stays on, windows still roll up and down, a/c still runs, lights will stay on. Nothing shuts off except the engine.. The previous owner thinks it needs an ignition switch. What do u guys think?

Sounds like the ignition lock cyl is worn out or the key is worn out. If the lock is acting up...It may not be returning to the "OFF" position when you get it there and pull the key. R/R of the lock cyl should solve your problem. If it doesnt... You have a problem with the power to the BCM...Most likely in the ingnition switch. (Keeping the bcm powered) instead of allowing it to time out once the key is off. Replace the ingnition lock first...Good luck!!!

BCM (body control module) is most likely culprit or there is a short in the harness allowing the bcm to remain powered.
You still need to check the actual ignition switch and its harness to rule it out...

Did u replace the cylinder and the black ignition switch assy? I assume you did if it was a used part. They have an issue with a piece snapping off the end of the cylinder where it turns the actual ignition switch. Was real common in all the older chryslers. You can usually feel it though. Should have play in the key cylinder if that was the issue.
Pull the connector off the ignition switch and see if your acc. are still alive or not. HAve a good look at the connector, they were bad for melting the terminals and shorting. Dead give away is usually a burn mark on the bottom of the column cover.

I would advise selling and buying a ford just kidding but I saw this and thought first thing it must be a transmission problem. Chrysler Dodge = transmission issues.
anyway I am kidding about the selling part, I'm just not a fan od dodges

I plan to sell it once i figure out the electrical problem still havent figured it out. I have talked to a couple mechanics in my town and none know what to do. Im gonna try to look into the BCM. I have noticed the guy that had it RIGGED some lights and rigged some speakers and other etc. Im thinking he could of possibly connected to a wrong wire somewhere?
