Well today i got my t5 swap done. and i couldnt beleive it. i have been reading on here about having to fabricate a crossmember and all this stuff.... well mine works great! and i was able to use the factory drive shaft which i will be changing..... im scared im going to break it.. but everything is good the shifter is in the right place and its a pro 5.0 shifter so it looks good and short in there and i love banging it through the gears.. with the 4:10s and a locker and the bone stock 347 stroker.......... it puts you in the seat...

Good job. There really is NO comparison on a street car between a automatic trans and a standard transmission of any kind. Plus having the Overdrive gear is nice too. Even on my little turd Merkur, which originally had a C3 auto, swapping to the T5 makes it feel like it's got 50 more HP and makes the car feel 1000 lbs lighter. And its only a 2.3 4 cylinder.

I thought it would be, my t5's got a 3.08 8.8 behind it and don't have much of a first gear. I'd like to have me a good 3.55 gear maybe 3.73 but that's pushing it:)

Awesome. So you're saying that the stock cross member and everything worked without modification? I put a Pro 5.0 shifter in my dad's '95 Mustang GT with a T5Z transmission out of a Cobra, and I know it has a real nice feel to it.

I like the old-school looking hurst t5 shifters. Think I may go with it or a pro 5.0

    yep

all i did was use my factory c4 mount because it is a little shorter. you cant use the t5 mount out of the fox body because it drops to much. it all bolted right up. it took me an hour and a half to do the swap., this does not include the ford racing cable swap and firewall adjuster. The pro 5.0 rocks.

    my car went from this

And if you don't mind just one more question (sorry, I meant to ask the first time around), I would assume you used a Fox Body Mustang bell housing?

That car is looking good! Sure has came a long way.

    cable

it was super easy. i went to mustangsteve.com and got his quadrant and welded it on the top of my factory clutch peddles. and than made a firewall brace out of L- channel aluminum, i cut it to about 4 inches long and bolted it to the lip under the hood on the firewall and used an adjustable ford racing clutch cable for a fox body mustang. it all cost about 100 bucks and its done. mustang steve also sells the whole kit but is way way to exspensive and you can do it yourself like i said for 100 bucks for less
