How about the pattern on a 77

    Is it also 5 x 4.5?

yup, all 5 lug Mav's have the 5x4.5" pattern (also the same as 5x114.3 in metric sizes)

and that's what makes them an odd pattern. the 4 lug wheels only interchange with Datson's and older Toyota Celica/Supra cars to my knowledge

Funny story, I went to Pep Boys to buy some rims (yeah overpriced, I wanted them NOW though haha) and I was gonna get some cheapo American Racing Outlaw IIs sized 15x8 and when I told the guy he asked, "what bolt pattern" so I said, "5 x 4.5" and he was all, "how do you have 4 and a half lugs". I told him, "think about it, when you figure it out I'll come back" so I never bought those damn rims, thank God I didn't, otherwise I would have never found my daisy mags in the Junkyard ;)
