My Dream Car was a 68 shelby. I couldve had one 30 yrs ago but didnt have 25,000.00. Now that I am established and somewhat finicially well off, the price is well over 300,000.00. THANKS BARRETT JACKO#$!:Blasting:

68s in the real world are no where near that. I've seen nice driver quality GT-350s for $60000-$70000 range. Northeast Mustangs has a beautilful 69 GT-350 driver asking $52000. I've seen rough unrestored 68s go for $25000-$45000.

My 68 is not a real Shelby, someone Shelby'ized it with genuine parts in the early 70s but it's probably as close as I'll ever have. (y)

This is what I noticed in the pictures of this car ! The air deflector on the radiator support. Check it out compared to Craigs car.

Any one know which way is the original factory way to install it. Craig S. maybe can answer this (orange car is his). I'll be installing mine this spring after a new radiator is installed and I want to be sure its install the way it was intended.

i hope the mavericks and comets stay lower priced, thats keeps it a affordable car ,and keeps lovers of these cars the owners, when they get high then the resalers, will be buying them up ,i think most maybe not all on this site couldnt afford a 30,000 over inflated car like the chevelles, camaros ,mustangs, when i look at the people on here there not owners who buy them so they can sell high, they buy because they can afford and want to own, lets hope they dont over inflate, ive been through the years when you could own a nice chevy2 ,or camaro for 3500 ,now that same car is 25000 ,honestly how many here will be buying 25000 mavericks ,it will be to rich for my blood .....

    My guess:
    Craig's car is right. :)

That seals name in the parts book is - "Radiator Top To Radiator Support Seal" - or I would have to say its purpose is to help the fan cool the A/C condenser.

Ahhhhhh......I have to admit.....I am WRONG on this one.

But....I did that on purpose. I installed it backwards to hide the tranny cooler located between the radiator and condensor.

Auctions aren't the one's shelling out big the dineros for these things, people are...On that day, at that time, that Maverick was worth $26,500.00..You and i may not think so but the guy who paid that did, so that's what that one is worth...Now, will it reflect on others?...Maybe, maybe be not....Time will tell.:yup:

Exactly, everyone's already upset that cars & parts might go up in price...they aren't making any more, it's bound to happen. I don't get people that are into a hobby like cars, but don't want to spend any money..maybe they should get into model trains, that way they wouldn't even have to leave their houses....:rofl2:
It's not the first car to go for decent money, Barrett Jackson sold a silver Comet a few years back, for decent money. Nick Dominic was at Carlisle last year, bidding on a Maverick that went for higher than everyone thought.
First chance I get, I'll sell my green car for good money, and I'll use it as a deposit on a new Mustang. Auctions are auctions, you never know.

I really hope, whoever bought that car enjoys it, for what it is, and doesn't get discouraged and dump it. It's a pretty decent car overall, a lot better than most on here. The interior needs some work, but other than that, get in and drive it, and enjoy. Still cheaper than building one.
