Don't know if this is the proper place to put this so moderators if not sorry. I have a 73 Maverick with an exellent body. I have been back and forth on making it a full drag car. The biggest thing hindering my decision is it is just in such great shape I hate to gut it. I would rather have a drag car more than a street machine. I make my living with my license so I dont need tickets. LOL I have looked for another Ford body to put my motor tarans and rearend in but just havent found anything without spending a bunch of money. SO if I decide to strip it I will have alot of interior pieces and a few exterior. What I would like to find is someone who has a Ford that is ready for the track to trade with OR me keep my drivetrain and swap bodies. I guess I'm just looking for ideas on which way to go. So whats the board think. I am open for Suggestions or ideas maybe even a deal.
If you want to see some nice Mavericks and Comets come to Somerset next week. The Maverick Comet Group will be there for the Gathering. See the schedule here. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=78452

It has a stock steel bottom end trickflow heads stealth intake roller rockers e303 ford cam 750 holley balanced. Was built for boost with 9.5-1 pistons.
This is the only one I have on the computer. The little rust spot behind the back wheel is the same on the other side. I will try and get some taken . It will probably be the weekend cause I work alot of hrs this week.

I am in a boat similiar to your's, as my profession at times requires that I issue traffic citations. My wife wants to build a show car and sit next to it all day long, and watch the car show attendees check out your hard labor. I personally prefer to build a drag car of some what show quality that actually gets driven down the track; preferably in a Heads-Up venue. My choice of powerplant would be some sort of large cube 8.2 Deck Yates engine possibly a 360, with a matching Roush/Yates single plane intake modified for a Dominator, and a clutchless 5-speed transmission behind it.
you are right, the car is in pretty good shape. But I think that whatever you do to it will not hurt the value, just keep all the parts that you remove. just in case you change your mind. I think others on the board will agree that most modifications done to these cars only helps there value.
