Does anyone know if the front disk brakes from a '77 Mav fit earlier models?

I'm pretty sure the spindle assemble will go right onto any year Maverick (Except maybe the very early 1970 year models. Some of the front end on the 1969½'s are Falcon-like)

I have a 69.5, and put discs from a '75 Comet on it in one day. Fit just like they belong there. The '77 brakes should fit well. Be sure to get new rotors, or at least cut the old ones, and get new or reman calipers. Also, the proportioning valve will need a replumb, but goes on easily. Good luck!

also gonna need new hoses and don't forget you'll probably need new tierod ends too! if your local parts place tries to rip you off... try rockauto.com they let rotors go for 38 bucks

My Sprint was a 6 cyl 4 lug set up. When I put the disc and 5 lug rear in it about 15 yrs ago, I didnt change anything other than the spindels front brake hoses and disc components. I still use my same master cyl and all hard brake lines. A proportioning valve really is not necessary as long as your rear wheels dont lock up before the front. I have tried mine many times and never had a problem with rear wheel lock up. If I did, I would get one of those inline adjustable ones and just splice it in the line somewhere.
