Going back at least 25-30 years ago I remember reading in a car mag that some guy had a 56 or 57 vette that he entered in a vette club road course competition and beat everything there. :racingflag: Afterwards while recieving his trophies they asked him to let them take a peek under the hood. SURPRISE, they didn't expect that, he had put the vette body on a  Cobra chassis :yikes:. If memory serves, I think it happened someplace in Tenn. but not positive. Maybe someone on here might remember it and have a little more info.:chirp::bananaman

lol thanks for the support and non support. but im gonna go thru with this. i really wanna see what it can do.
like i said i have almost everything and my buddies are willing to help out. good thing one of them is one hell of a fabricator.
the main reason why im getting rid of the 75 after im done is cuz my mom doesnt want me collecting cars. i collect enough things and well cars are pretty big and cant be hidden so well lol

and yes the new 5.0 motors would be nice to swap in. im drooling thinking of that.

Look for information on transplanting the LS Series of motors into the 1962 to 1967 Chevrolet Nova. They had similar front end designs as the Maverick you are working with, including the shock towers and rear steer. Pay special attention to the 1962 - 1965 Novas as they had a narrower engine bay than the 1966 & 1967 Novas.

    Hope this helps,
    -Scott H.

Sure is funny how GM's into the Fords are common. BUT, turn the tables, put the Ford in the chevy, and they all have fits! Double standard? If one is to be "hacked" to make another engine fit, put a "warm" 460 in it. They build more HP than ANYTHING else, strokers are so simple (and cheap) I still don't support transplants, just go buy a chevy if that's what people want. But, that's my own opinion.

Yep 4.29 in the 1/8th is quick but How much of that motor is Ford?? I'm gonna guess maybe the block casting and thats about it. With enough hard work you can make anything fast.

Oh gosh, I never thought of this. First we change intake/carb, then cam, pistons/rods, some aftermarket heads, ect... All of a sudden my engine lost it's identity! It's no longer a Ford, what is it? Oh no! Ok you win, they are boat anchors, enjoy your Victory.
