    Hey Guys,

As everybody knows, the 75 bumpers are hideous. I imagine swapping to earlier years take a little modification. Does anybody know what years I could use for a smaller bumper that fits the 75 with some modifications? Got a friend headed to Carlyle and he's gonna poke around for me. Going for the sleek, tucked in look. Starting my first project. I work in a Ford shop and make Mustang, Torino, Fairlane exhaust all day long. The 75 fell in my lap and excited to build my first hot rod Thanks!!!

    Jake

not a bad swap...bumpers, brackets, lower front and rear valance. the trunk brackets can be sourced from a mustang parts store.

Thank you. I've been poking around and found some info. I'll need some quarter panel extensions too. Luckily, we do business with some places that have decent Maverick/Comet catalogues for things I can't find outside of the aftermarket.

Yes! :) If I'm going away from stock, I'm going all in. May as well go with the Grabber lid:lolup:

Big bumper fenders are different from small bumper fenders. You can notch the late fender to fit around the early stone guard. The metal behind the headlight is different along with the headlight buckets. See Fender Notch (1bad6t.com) for more detail before you start cutting.

Will a 1973 front bumper fit a 1975 without changing the front fenders ??

The fenders have little to do with the fit of the bumper. The notch in the early fenders with smaller bumpers was for the stone guard. The stone guard is the metal piece that goes beneath the grill. On big bumper cars the fenders do not have the notch for the stone guard, they use a large plastic piece below the grill. It is not a difficult job, but it is not a straight swap either. Look on the site for small bumper conversion articles to make sure you know the different pieces involved for a complete swap. I believe all the parts needed are now reproduced. The 73 was a one year only set up. If doing the small bumpers look at the 70-72 stuff.

The '73 bumper fits '74-'77 models.
'Might look a bit off with the lack of a front valance (not sure).
A buddy of mine had a '74 bumper on the front of his '73 when he first bought it from a previous owner. He soon swapped it for the correct '73 bumper...
