Ok, So some time back I rebuilt my C4. Replaced the vacuum modulator at that time. The question pertains to how it is secured. I had the tranny out for a while why I waited for parts, then re-assembled. This morning I was trouble shooting a leak, and found that the modulator had backed out and was letting tranny fluid drip. This is the style that has the o-ring and pushes in.

Apparently I forget to put the bracket back on that secures this in place. I didn't have any extra parts, so maybe this was missing all along. Does anyone have a pic showing the bracket on the tranny and how it secures the modulator? I need to try to fabricate something or find a replacement. Does anyone know if one from an AOD will work?

    Thanks

I can say one from a AOD won't work as they never used a modulator valve...

    Thanks,

Think I figured it out. Fabricated a bracket from an old flat pot metal box end wrench. Should hold it in snug. Always wondered why I kept old stuff like that around. Cut one end off, drilled a hole for the bolt, and put a proper bend in it. The box end that was left let me run the vac hose back to the modulator.

There is a small metal bracket that holds it in place if it is a push in.
