Hello all, I have finished assembly on my engine and front end in my 74 Maverick with a 250ci inline 6, and have two extra bolts that were in my parts washer after I was finished. Everything was taken apart, engine was out, many parts were replaced, and most bolts were replaced inside the engine. It's been a while since everything was taken apart and I can't for the life of me figure out what these go to.

They are two 1/2-13 thread bolts, grade 8, with an overall length of 2 5/16". The head is 3/4". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I put a 1/2" wrench next to it for scale in the picture I attached. Thanks!

    Look like bumper bolts.

That just means you're more efficient than the factory, you can assemble the car with less bolts.

Appear to have been exposed to environment, including threads. I would not think they were something inside engine or even threaded into a blind hole.

Im hoping they are just bumper bolts, like Craig said. I was messing around with the bumperettes and some bolts probably just got mixed together.

Battery tray bolts? Two on the right, one in front and one or two on left?
