Hello all, I have a 1974 Ford maverick. I am in the process of doing a swap to a 302 from the inline 6. We are just wondering if clearance from the hood would be an issue. The car will have a edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake, with a 650 carb. Right now I have the stock hood, looking at getting a grabber hood for it.

As long as you put it on stock V-8 Maverick mounts...It will fit under the stock hood with the air gap intake...

I have a 302 block with Air Gap intake, Quick Fuel 650 carb, and 3" air cleaner with dropped base. Fits fine.

With that intake you should not have any clearance issues if you use the right airfilter. That's pretty much the same set-up that I have/had, mine now has about a 4" tall carb hat on it and it still fits.
