    Good evening,

I finally had a few hours to get back under the hood today. I ran into an issue wiring the distributor. There are 6 wires coming out of a bundle with convoluted tubing on the driver's side. 250 inline 6. Red and green for the coil terminals, which I replaced the connector at the coil. There are 3 wires going to a female connector that attach to the distributor. The wiring diagram shows them routing directly to the ECU. Unfortunately, I have the 3 wires coming out from the distributor with male blade terminals. Not sure how they connect to the female connector. I have black, purple and orange coming out of the distributor. Black, what looks like faded purple and yellow (?) Coming from the connector. The car is a 76. I didn't want to assume black to black, purple to light purple, etc, wanted to be sure before connecting. Any help is greatly appreciated.
And one last issue, coming out of the same bundle there is a yellow wire with what may be a Grey stripe, has a female connector. No clue where it goes.
Thank you in advance for any guidance you guys can provide! View attachment 128698

Thank you, very much for the link.. I actually have the diagram.

I may be overthinking this way too much!

My only concern was solid orange coming from the distributor and yellow from the ECU.

I am so close to getting it running I'm pretty much paranoid about everything!

Are you sure connections are factory?? Ford did not use Duraspark till 1975, assuming your car is a '73 it's been added.

Here's a 1976 diagram with colors, sometime in later '70s the R/LB & W/LB were reversed in the connector plug.

    My car is a 76.

Had a 73 formerly. Frame and everything else was rotted.

    Thanks for the color diagram!

If you are using a DuraSpark II use this.

Oh and as Krazy Comet said....the red/White wire is SUPPOSED to be crossed a the module plug.

So, I ended up finding an NOS pick up coil assembly with the connector 20210915_171438.jpg on Ebay. Got it in last Thursday. Hoping the wife and kids give me a couple of hours this weekend to get the battery, alternator and ground wires sorted out, and maybe get it started!

I think that only applies to Duraspark II.

I'd assume the Ford diagram I posted is correct, later ones show wires crossed...
