Very nice looking car. Going in the right direction there. Also I will mention (because no one else has) a 70 Grabber came with Grabber stripes on side and hood and a rear spoiler. Great looking car!

The Taurus fan most used is a 1993 and up 3.8 v6 2 speed fan assembly need to be trimed to fit and mounted upside down . Sable fans are the same . Also use a volve controller.

I have the Taurus fan w/150 amp 3G alternator. When I had a v-belt on there it would squeal like crazy when the fan came on. Went to a 6-rib Crown Vic setup to cure that.

The fan came from TCY, i think...1995 taurus, 3.8L
Also controlled with the thread famous "volvo fan controller"
Mercury sable is same, but has to be 3.8 to get the 4500cfm 2speed fan.
Use 1N5408 diodes inline to the fan motor, to keep from power feedback.

I heard that billet aluminum pulleys have deeper grooves to keep the belt gripping.

Actually you want the diodes to connect the high and low speed fan leads to ground so that the diodes are reverse biased during normal fan operation and forward biased to any back emf.

Mount the diodes as close to the motor as possible. Mine are spliced right into the motor leads.

The project Grabber has been sold, the new owner traded me for some cars.
Not to mention, all the tools to start my own engine head shop!

I will still take the maverick to some car shows this year, then it goes to my buddy next spring.

My current project is a 76 chevy monza towne coupe, with a 500hp sbc 302.

Also, I have many left over parts from my maverick project....If anyone is interested.
