Well, I have the orange 4 door 72 Maverick with a 302 in it. 60,000 original miles and single exhaust. Now I am on a budget, but if its worth waiting on this part I can. What I am contemplating is getting some 30-$40 mufflers and a short stretch of pipe for each side and duelling it off just in front of the rear wheels and turning the ends down with tips. Or should I just hold off and get the exhaust taken all the way back out the tail? Or are there other things that I should consider? I don't think that I am ready to go the header route yet though since that will add more time, cost and clearance problems that I am not ready to deal with yet.

i like mine under the car with them pointing towards the inside of the back wheels. just a tad bit of echo but a great sound, and i dont have to worry about running them out the back :yup:

I dump my headers underneath the front seats with a pair of cutouts. Sounds cool when you get on it and when I go into a parking structure, one flick of my right foot is all it takes to set off every car alarm on that floor.
