Is there a gear drive that will fit the 200ci?

To my knowledge no. Why would you want one anyway they make a lot of noise.

i have one....HATE IT..double roller next winter when i rip the motor out...do what you want, but i highly suggest not getting one.

i thought it was cool at one point too..till i drove it for 20mins.

How bad is the noise? I heard they were noisy, but, do they drown everything else out? I've also heard that they are very durable

Honestly it's pretty bad of a sound. It's a constant whine.. Between that and exhaust drone some days I want to shoot myself... Once the gear drive is gone ill love life again, bit not untill next winter.

They do make "quiet" versions, but I think any benefits you get are outweighed by the constant whine. Unless you want everyone to think you have a supercharger. I'd go with a quality timing chain.

In my opinion they are as obnoxious as fart cans...

A guy I know bought a big block Chevelle that had one because it sounded cool, within a few weeks he was looking for someone to change it to a chain...

I bought a gear drive for the 351W I am building...I have decided not to even use it! They wear the valve train quicker, hence why mine is sitting brand new in the box still!

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
IIRC the big block 6s had gear drives from the factory, which aren't interchangeable with the small sixes.

They sound terrible, but it's your car and your prerogative.

Actually they have gear driven timing which requires a cam that's ground "backwards" compaired to a chain driven cam... The gear drives use a idler(s) between the lower and upper gears that keeps cam rotation CW vs CCW of the big sixes...

I believe the 427 SOHC motors were gear driven.
