Hello all, I'm excited to be part of this forum and am looking forward to making new acquaintances and to finding a very nice car. I've been a car nut for almost 50 years and have owned some fabulous iron in that time, but am currently without a special-interest car. Like most people my age, I long for the simpler times in life, and for me, that was the 1970's when I was growing up in the heart of the Mile High City - Denver, CO. I love the cars from that era and have a particular affinity for Ford Motor Company products, although I enjoy all different kinds of cars. I think they're all cool in their own unique ways. I miss having a special interest car and for about the last three years or so, have noticed how many Mavericks and Comets are showing up on the scene. They're really cool! I had many fond memories of them and find that their styling still looks good today. My wife of 33 years and I have decided we'd like to find one of these cars. Being from Arizona, the car MUST have fully-functioning air conditioning, a V-8 engine, and we want a two door model. We're open to everything else like model, year, color, options, etc. Also, not looking for a car that needs a lot, but willing to buy a car that just needs a bit of TLC. Also, I was in Ford parts for 27 years and have all of the parts catalogs and OSI books, so I can help forum members needing original part numbers and/or interchange information. I'm looking forward to being an active and productive new forum member. tomthemercman (Tom the Merc man)
Welcome aboard Tom. I'm new here myself. Like you, I don't have a special interest car. I sold my 89 Mustang LX and bought my 94 Chevrolet Silverado which I've done a lot to performance wise but it's not a car. I do hope you find what you're looking for in a Maverick and will be looking forward to pictures of it when you land it. Take care and we'll see ya round, Joe
Hey Larry, I see you're a fellow Coloradan. To answer your question, it's HOT! From early May until end of September, our daily highs are usually 100 or above. Winters are nice, though.
I was in Pueblo for a little over a year back in 2002-2003 with the National Guard and remember all too well how sweltering it can get there during the summer months. Winters were in fact nice and I miss that climate. Here in Corpus there are two seasons, 1.) Summer and 2.) Almost Summer.
