Are there any other scoops that will bolt on correctly (and look good) on a standard Comet hood? I'm finding it hard to locate a original Comet GT scoop, and was wondering if scoops from other cars might look good as well. For instance, would the scoops from other Ford cars like fox body Mustangs or even earlier Cougars or Torinos match up with a Comet's hood shape? Anyone else know what would work and look good? Thanks.

I like the Torino/Mustang scoop. I have a buddy that put one of those reproduction shaker scoops on his Maverick and it looks killer!!!

My 75 has a Dodge Demon scoop...

Sorry Ford only guys, but it fit great and looks great IMO.
All my family and friends keep telling me to put it on the Sprint... however that is a little too far for even me!

On the Shaker thing, I would love to see a pic!

Hey Dave, I'll see if I can get over his house tomorrow and take a picture. It rained all day today.

    That's sweet!

It would be kinda hard to incorporate that into a Sprint though... :(
I would put it on the 75 down the road, but I am really attached to the scoop it has.
I guess I have to buy another Mav so I can do this. ;)

I agree - the shaker is sweet. Thanks everyone, for the scoop tips. I'll let you know what we decide on.

i llike that... its a little too small for what i was thinking on my mav.. but it looks cool

correct me if i am wrong.. the shaker mounts to the carb... and then the hood rest on it right?

where do you get them from? and how hard are they to mark out and get mounted properly?

The shaker mounts to the top of the air cleaner. It is functional. They are available for any Mustang supplier.

This is the only pic I have left of the car in it's prime.
It doesn't do the look of the scoop much justice.
Also, the scoop has dual snorkles, so the middle sits lower than the rest. The result is a scoop that is 4" tall overall, but only nets 1" additional carb clearance.
But it does look good IMO. Fit very well.
