Fuel pump for 72 Ford Maverick six cylinder? Does anybody know of an intank fuel pump that will fit. I’m not getting enough fuel pressure from the in-line fuel pump I don’t know if it’s because it’s got to make that loop from the sending unit so it can go forward or if it is due to the Sending unit having its own filter therefore there are three filters. Got to do some more testing still to find out but I’d really like to just put her in tank pump in it and be done. When I don’t wanna do is pay $1000 for a new tank and pump! Thank you in advance for any advice

My understanding was they used those in the stock tank but I only grazed the thread so you're probably right.

Let me ask you a question if the sending unit has a filter and I have what I think it’s just a 20 micron filer behind the pump and the 10 µm filter in front of the pump do you think I’d have low flow because of that? Holly says that it’s 100 micron filter that comes with their kit but according to the paperwork I got with it the instructions and stuff it’s only a 20 micron

If the fuel line pressure is insufficient after pump, might try replacing pump. If you think the line from tank is starving the fuel pump, pull the tank's pickup/gauge and may find tank is rusty or debris filled and pickup sock plugged...

    have fun

Spectra is just a brand name for a stock replacement tank. I have that Holley pump in my tank. It is made for the 71-77

I'd say you don't need two filter before the pump. I'd remove the in tank sock. Most pumps are made to push and don't pull well.

this is what I have used for a sender filter. I remove the "sock" slide on a 14-16" piece of fuel line and put the filter on the end. the inlet is off the bottom of the tank and the filter sloshes with the movement of the fuel, no gas starvation on hard acceleration. I have never used any clamps to secure the hose/filter and never lost one in the tank. I'm thinking fuel is going in and not out...

OK so I pulled the filter off that goes between the tank and the pump hooked up a pressure gauge between pump and second filter I only got 6 pounds of pressure. May be a faulty pump? It is the pump that came with the sniper master kit. If I pull the hose off the inlet to the pump I get plenty of fuel out of the house it just dumped out.

Thank you for the replies guys but it seems that Holley did not put a fuel pressure regulator in my unit. Banging my head for a week over this and all along it was Holley who screwed me
