I'm trying to get this fitting to stop leaking. I had the whole system rebuilt not too long ago, and this is the last leak to fix. I've been loosening and tightening it over and over again. Some times it drips, other times it gushes. The best I've been able to do is getting it to just a slow drip. Is there a trick to this? What does it take to get this thing to seal properly?

A old mechanic trick is to back the nut off and slide it back some. Where the nut on the hose goes wrap it in thread or Teflon tape. Then slide the nut back down and tighten. It pushes the hose parts tighter together.

Check the flare/seat (either SAE 45* or JIC 37*), if it has been damaged, it will not seat properly and will leak.......

Agreed on flare fittings. Teflon tape ain't gonna stop leak, at least for long. With upward of 300-400 lb pressure, not easy to stop.

Once those have been over tightened, probably have to replace both hoses.

If you have a decent flare tool you could try to re-flare the female side before replacing the hoses.
