By the way, that is orange juice in my glass, I gave up booze when the ex left. I didn't need to be intoxicated 24/7 after she took off!!:rofl2:

I like the aluminum ones for sure. I bet the carbon ones would look good too, but with the complexity of it, they would be costly. Maverickman threw in the towel on mirrors, he may not even dream of this one.

I have looked into carbon fiber for my Stealth and the material cost was WAY more than the aluminum at the time, I built my first louver with aluminum and one guy seen it and wanted it in the worst way, I sold it to him off of my Stealth at a Walmart parking lot and I've been making them since.
If the louver is worth more than the car, Find me an old Maverick Grabber or Comet worth buying for $700 or less.
Carbon Fiber...cmon, you'd be laughed out of a car show, carbon fiber is for late model imports, you have classic, muscle. I grew up w/these cars, and had a few in our family. only carbon fiber I would buy for these cars....possibly, would be an Grabber hood & hope nobody would notice, I would buy an carbon fiber/fiberglass rear spoiler though. I was the one who offered these for 350.00 as Wilpack mentioned. and you seen how long that lasted and many of you, I'm sure don't remember, because at 350.00 each I quickly went under, "can't work for free",and I ended up in debt. Check ebay for classic Mopar louvers, can't touch one for under 1200.00 and they go upto 2500.00.
At 700.00 each it works out to a days pay for a days work. It takes approx. 3 days to make one + cost of materials and outside sourcing for T.I.G. welding. I won't even use my M.I.G. welder just because the weld spatter messes up the mill finish on aluminum and that takes extra time & supplies, to sand out. or use filler to cover up. I don't cut corners, and I don't sell cheap crap, I joined this site because of my fondness of these cars. no need for insults or any negative talk, I'm a professional fabricator and take pride in my work, and I have always enjoyed seeing these cars on the road and in shows.

From one fabricator to another, I agree... WHATEVER the materials may be, there is always the labor factor :smash: and the misc supplies and location. Starts adding up pretty quick.

Man I wish I had the loot to buy one for my Comet.
My car cost $600 though and if I was to spend more than that on an accessory I'd need a new wife.
Whole engine, transmission...paint...I could get away with but louvers would be a bad idea for me.

They are good looking though and they are on my short list of must haves right beside sidepipes, disc brakes, a motor that doesn't leak and yellow traction bars.

I just want to say thank you for thinking of us!
Maverick/Comets seem to be the 'red-headed stepchildren' of the aftermarket...
So we welcome any aftermarket support for stuff like this!
That said, not all of us will be able to afford everything available.
I am in business and know that you need to charge what you need to charge.
If we all could afford everything we wanted, I believe there would be alot more supercharged 427w Grabbers on the board! With your louvers at that!
But we all know that won't ever happen.
Anyway, THANK YOU for offering, and I sincerely hope you sell plenty here!
    Dave

i have a little sticker shock... but lovers seem expensive for anything now. 70-71 torino lovers are $1k+. when i get the money (and some other things done), i think i will spring for a set. So hopefully, you will still be making them in 2-3 years.

Thanks for being another source of Maverick parts!!:Handshake

Thanks to all for the warm welcome and the chuckles from the peanut gallery.
To the guy commenting about the Torino louver, if I had a rear window from one, I can make it :thumbs2:
