I agree with you! Price is not bad considering the labor involved. To me they look best on a hatchback with the long sloped roof and no trunk. But if you want to build a Shelby Maverick clone you will need one! :D

Here is another follow-up from the maker of the louvers:

Look in ebay for my ebay name....7864john.....
and then looking at my listings. I don't run any listings once I get 3-4 louvers to build. after I get a few out of the way I run more listings, so it's more of a hit and mis situation for some of you out there. I did just post more Mopar listings yesterday...Cuda, Challenger and R/Runner-Charger.
I am ordering the material today for this (Maverick) louver, and will get started on it next couple of days. I'll give you a heads up notice immediatly when it goes on ebay probly tuesday or wednesday, with pics. of louver sitting on a Maverick.... it will be on a parts car, will not be a pretty car, but will show details. Hey Thanks for all the help
    John

They are made out of aluminum. here is a link to one of his auctions: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970...34204QQitemZ4607542431QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

And here is another one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971...34204QQitemZ4607540725QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

He has 100% positive feedback....with lots of positve comments on the louvers.

    Pretty impressive ...

Craig ... did you ask him if he took into account that the rear decklid needs clearance to open? I know the JC Whitney louvers merely left off the bottom slat to allow the clearance ... maybe he will come up with something more pleasing to the eye ...

Yes......I did mention that to him. He was glad I did because he did not realize that would be a problem. I will ask him if he can come up with something besides leaving off the bottom louver.

Here is a picture of a set of lovers he made for a T-Bird. It had to be made to clear the tunk lid when open....just like our Mavericks/Comets.
