looking to change up the maverick and do. I6 to v8 swap. Kind of stuck on what combination I want to run.

I am leaning towards the BP3024CTC. Blueprint completed motor. https://blueprintengines.com/products/ford-302-with-cast-iron-heads-roller-cam

I want to stick witha C4 transmission that would compliment the motor. I am running a 8” 31 spline 3.55 with posi for a rear end.

Any suggestions on a transmission or a motor in the same price range.
Car will be a weekend street car with occasional strip trip.

    Thanks in advance!

I purchased some aluminum heads for my 351W from them this winter, Very nice quality. I am very happy with them. I'm thinking when I am ready to put a 429 in my wife's truck that I will probably buy one from them.

That engine is a great choice as is the C4 trans. Have you thought about the AOD trans?

Blue Print makes a good product.

I'm fairly confident the C4 in our cars whether I6 or V8 are the same. Therefore, it would just be a matter of having yours overhauled at a local transmission shop. That is what I did. My car however was originally a V8.

One thing I do suggest is getting Summit torque convertor SUM-700370. This convertor is great on the street and made a world of difference at the strip. I have a remote trans cooler with this convertor.

I don't know if you have a floor shift or not but you will need one for racing as you will have to manually shift your C4 to get good strip times.

I have been racing my Comet for over eight years with no breakage of the C4 or the 8" 3:80 differential.

Yeah C4 is the same but bellhouosng flexplate and spacers are different if I remember right. My car is an auto on the column so no manual. As of now not thinking about swapping to manual. So what ever shift points the car gives me I’ll have to deal with for a while.

    Thanks for the response!!

I’ve thought about the AOD but not to sure about installing one because I thought some fabrication is needed.

The 200 C4 has less clutches than 250/302 version. Can be added at rebuild.

Do a search here on the forum and I think you’ll find all the info about a AOD swap, I’m installing a T5 in mine as I think the OD will make it much nicer to drive.

I have a T-5 in my 70 Maverick w/ Fuel Injection Bone Stock Motor and averaged 24 MPG on the HRPT and at an
average Highway Speed of 70-75 mpr and tachometer was just under 2000 rpm . This is with a 3:55 tru track Rear
Gear also. The Stock gear would yield an even better mpg ratio. It's a good move and it's not that difficult to convert
from the automatic. Just my two cents .

Lowering the cruise rpm doesn't always amount to higher MPG. At some point you end up below the engine's peak torque and then you're lugging it which decreases MPG.
