 Fall semester is OVER! I get a couple months back at work and time to spend on the Comet!!

So, I've already planned out my next steps. On Monday I'm going to visit the upholsterer about my front buckets. I also just picked up the bellhousing I need off of eBay, not a bad price, huh?

The interior gets gutted this week. Then next comes the front and rear suspension, time to get it about 3 feet off the ground. :dancing:

    Pictures soon! (y)

Guess you can tell, but it worked pretty good. Fabbed up from a piece of sheetmetal . made a crdboard template first. Autometer sells trim rings that will tillt the guages back at the driver. Did have to cut out the dash, but did it in one piece and saved that piece just in case i would ever want to put it back.

Looks sharp! It looks like you used the angled rings. Im actually re-thinking my home made 5 gauge panel. I think it would look to big and awkward.

Picked up some parts needed for the disc brakes off eBay. All I need now are rear calipers.

I love getting parts together.

Today, got the rest of the interior stripped, except for the dash, steering column and A/C box. My original floor patches from 1999 look good, except now I have a small hole in the passenger floor. Lots of rust though, I need to use Rust Stop and paint the entire floor section this time.

Saturday was a fun day of mocking up the 12.5" 2007 Mustang GT front disc brakes. We placed them using 1/4" plywood. My buddy will be fabricating the brackets this week from the templates. Here are some pics:

Both gauge renditions look great, but the oval unit wud use quite-a-bit of room in the small Comet\Mav interior. I guess if it's going in a race only no problem. I like em....
2.) Those twin piston brakes look great - I am impressed. My Comet has fac units but I wud like something like those. I hope mine work better when I get my new booster\mc this summer. I wud think a lot of folks here wud like to get a template of that brake set-up.
    Again ----LOOKS GREAT

Yeah... I totally agree. I am leaning towards 3 gauges above the center hump, then 2 on the left down low, near the parking brake lever. Or mounted on top of the dash near the A-pillar.

    5 Gauge Cluster

The only problem I have w\ gauges above the parking brake is they are out of the main line of sight. My first choice wud be all in an inline cluster; if you have the room. When u look at one--u see all. If I was going to seperate I wud go for windshield post or some other place more in the line of sight.
I have 3 * 2 5\8 just to the right of the hump and cud put 5 easily if I did'nt have stero rx pod there. If u don't have anything above the hump either of ur designs wud work well. Im just more partial to the inline setup. JMO
BTW ---- DO U PLAN ON DOING A TECH ON THAT BRAKE SETUP?
    I LIKE EM.
IS THAT THE STOCK SPINDLE? :thumbs2::thumbs2:

I was thinking about it. I had my buddy over helping who was cramped for time, so I did not get the pictures taken that I wanted to. But I can always go back and re-document it. The brackets are basically cut and trim to fit. I got the idea from the 05-10 Mustang GT disc brake conversions for Ford drum spindles. I just did not want to pay the 400 or so bucks for brackets, hardware and rotor spacers. Yes, those are the stock drum spindles.

The rear brakes will come along soon, as soon as I get rear calipers.

    And so it begins...

Haven't had a chance to work on the Comet in a couple of weeks, but I did manage to purchase a new addition. They will need a little massaging ofcourse. ;)
