Hello everyone, I am glad to be here. I have a 1972 Comet that I am fixing up with my dad and just here to talk about it and get some good ideas. Right now my problem is fining a replacement floor panel. I know that I need to use a stang 65 to 70 but can anyone say which year would be best?
The Mustang floor panels for that span of years are all the same (believe it or not, given the changes in size for the overall cars). How much floor do you actually need? Partial panels are available as well as whole sides and entire floors with a trans hump. CJs Pony Parts has a pretty good selection. Like Frank asked ... track down why it got water in there in the first place and fix that. Frequently it is the cowl area in Fords of this age. Do a search here and you will get some ideas on how to tackle that.
from Atlantic Canada! Do yourself a favour and SLOWLY pour a bucket of water down the grilles in front of your windshield. If you get water coming into the car on the front floor area, then you're looking at cowl repairs. There are several different ways to repair this, or prevent water from entering the cowl all together. There is a Tech Article here: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=35489 And MY personal experience: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=92251
thank you everyone. The front panels on both sides are rusted out. I have found the parts to replace it. Once again thank you
