    1975 Maverick Grabber
    Hi Maverick and Comet fans!

I'm new to this page. I have a '75 Maverick Grabber that I've owned since '95. I a so curious to see how many are left. Mine is a 250 cu in inline six, manual transmission (stick shift), with bucket seats and no power steering, no power brakes,no AC. Just the pure motor. Seems like whoever ordered it in '75, they wanted to drop a V8 and make it a racer..LOL Hope someone can give me some info.

    Welcome...

Almost no such thing as a 100% accurate figure on remaining vehicles. Due to unregistered vehicles hiding in barns, garages, etc probably as many unknowns as knowns. After 50 years, a 5-8% survival rate is considered the norm, though it's usually the lesser figure for common(non-Hi-Po) models. A Marti report will provide number built with 250 & std transmission, Craig probably has that figure.

As far as ordering for a V8 swap, I'd say chance is almost zero, 250 was approx $36 option over 200(I'm using 1973 prices for reference). Factory built V8 versions were $122 over base Grabber 200 6cyl. Very few were customer ordered, dealers ordered probably 98% for inventory.

In the mid '80s I owned a base '74 2dr with 250 & three on tree, only other options it had was AM radio & P/S.

I am only keeper of the 1970 Ford Maverick Grabber Registry.

1975 would be the last year of the Grabber......and the lowest number of Grabbers built in a model year.....so that makes the car somewhat rare.

Hi from Western PA. Craig is right about the '75 being much rarer than the other Grabber years. It was replaced in '76 with the Stallion.

I remember when I logged my VIN and someone else said the '75 Grabber was rare. Pretty neat that there's at least 2 here now.

I mean, if I'm the only one, that'd be cool too.
