Yesterday, I picked up a motor and transmission for my project. The engine is a 347 and the trans is a Hughes C4. The engine has a holley sniper intake on it, I do not think that will fit under the hood of the car. After doing some research, the intake is a single plane intake but I can't really find out much about them, does anyone here have any experience with them? It has AFR 58cc heads and short tube headers, the motor came out of a 25 anniversary mustang. I do not have specific info on the internals of the engine to know if that size stall is needed. The transmission is a built trans with reverse valve body and what they think is a 3k stall. I'm thinking of taking it to a transmission shop to have it checked out and see about having the valve body changed, if that's possible.
Does the intake say Sniper or is it just the throttle body? I wasn't aware of Holley making a Sniper intake but there is a LOT of stuff out there I'm not aware of! As far as the valve body, I would reach out to Hughes, there might be more to it than the valve body and a local shop might inadvertently create issues if they just swap valve bodies.
And after talking to a couple of transmission shops, they said the same thing. Reach out the Hughes to see what they do to the internals, it also had a trans brake on it as well. I'll be doing that tomorrow.
Was not aware of that intake line up and didn't get it to come up on a search. Cool looking setup but definitely not hood friendly!
I may be interested as well. The engine I built for our Maverick already sticks thru the hood a bit so that's not a problem.
