I am trying to track down a rear main seal for my 71 that has a 200ci. It seems like every where I look they are out of stock or special order. Any recommendations of where to look at. All help is much appreciated.

Are the 170ci seals the same as the 200ci seals. And I really appreciate the help.

I understnd this is an older thread but, can you swap out the old, rope style, rear main seals for an updated 2 piece rubber seal? Running a 1973 Ford Maverick 250 Inline 6 w/ C4 Automatic Transmission. Thank you.

Yes, there is a pin in the rear main cap you must remove first.

Excellent! Thank you for confirming for me. I see the pin you mentioned.
Best way to go about removing the pin?

I've used a nail before with the same diameter. Cutting the point off.
