    Very nice restoration! I like it! What issues involved installing AOD? Where are the AC vents? What type exhaust setup?

    1. The AOD is not a difficult conversion with an EFI and a floor shift. You need the correct mount, a little wiring, some adjustments to the shifter linkage and a Lokar cable to the throtle body/carb. You use the standard drive shaft.
    2. I used a non-a/c dash. I dont like the center vent. There are vents on either side of the package tray. I have custom lines to the compressor that will soon be installed.
    3. Exhaust is kit tubes from summit cut and welded to fit and a Magnaflow muffler.



    Frustratingly, the following week after I took the completion photos, I pulled the motor. I was buring about a quart in 100 miles. Could not figure it out. I sent it back to the machine shop. Someone there did not read the instructions and forgot to install the PCV baffle in the intake. Making a couple modifications while it is out. Unfortunatly, I will miss a car show next week and will have to use my substitute car. Hope to have it on the road in a couple of weeks. Some AC hoses and a stereo should complet the project.

    Jaw dropping example of a maverick. The time line of the build from start to finish and the details listed are truly inspiring. Is there a way you could take get a picture of the tail lights at night? Great job man.:thumbs2:

    Thanks Ryan. As far as the tail lights, are you looking to see how bright they are or how they sequence? It might take me a bit to get some photos at night. With the engine out, I'm hesitant to connect the battery.

    Wow!!! that's pretty amazing! Question. Those turn signal lights in the grille don't look stock? Are those LEDs? I love that idea over the original sidemarkers.

    Yes, the fronts were modified also. Below is a link to an old picture of what I did. I later upgraded to the better LEDs that I used in the tail lights. I wanted something brighter like the modern cars running LEDs in the hope that it will prevent someone from running into me. Standard 1157 bulbs are 32/3 candle power. One 48 LED panel puts out over 48 cp of a much whiter light. It is actually surprising how bright they are.

    That's really clever! Was there any major hurdle with using LEDs with a stock harness? From what i have heard LEDs draw less power but the wiring is a bit more "complex" but seeing as cool those look (and saftey due to brightness) I may just have to look into that.
