Any good tips on installing a set of Grabber mirrors on my Non-Grabber Maverick? It looks like I use one of the existing door holes but will need to drill out the other one. Instead of just a sheet metal screw, was thinking maybe a machine screw with a nut on the back since the factory setup looks like it has some sort of backing plate or weld nut in place. Thanks.
I just found the PDF file that someone posted showing the instructions. These are very helpful. I also found the screw retainer at Melvins (screw and retainer kit AMK-802). Still, any tips or precautions would be appreciated. Got a new paint job and don't want to screw it up.
Correct.. That said, my Cobra Jet has had three chrome sheet metal screws holding the racing mirrors since '75, no issue. One that held original manual mirror is correct. Even though it was originally a LDO, Comet was optioned with the race mirrors.
Check this out ... The factory put the mirrors pretty far back on the door.
