I have a 72 Maverick and I’m having trouble figuring out how the auto krafters trunk rubber is supposed to set in. Can I get some advice or pics please?

Here is an old thread - post #6 has some pictures.

One thing the repop weather strip does not have the holes to let air out. When I did my '72 I used a leather punch to recreate the holes just like original OEM has. Use the 3m RED box adhesive to glue it down in place and tape to hold it for a couple days before trying to close the lid. When you close the lid the first time it seems nearly impossible to close because it is new. That will get a lot better after some time being compressed.
