Why Mavericks? I don't know. When they first left a message on my voicemail in search of Mavericks, they said "they are looking to use some Mavericks in a commercial". Apparently they meant it!

When the guy from the film production company came over to the house to shoot some pictures of my cars, I thought for sure they would have chosen my Comet GT, as clean as it is. When they called me to tell me which cars to pull out, it verified their intention to use Mavericks exclusively.

All four cars were used at one time or the other, even if they were just parked on the curb for a background shot. The director seemed to be partial to my green Grabber and Sprint, though. So far they have only used these two in the three ads they released. (If you look real close in the scene with the bus driving off, the white '74 LDO is in the reflection of the storefront glass).

When I get a chance, I will go ahead and post the other two ads. As much film as they shot, there might be more ads following, but you never know.

The scene where the bus is going around the corner on the interstate, if you pause it, all the traffic on the interstate looks to be copy after copy of the Green Mav following each other. Probably done with a computer.

Yes, they cloned my green Grabber! Originally the scene on the overpasses were filmed with the green Grabber and the white LDO, but aparently they changed it in the end.

At one point, a guy from the production department explained that the commercial takes place on a planet where the only cars are Mavericks.

    Maverick Utopia!!

In Maverick World ... Mavericks must have the gas filler tube in the front fender and not the rear panel judging by the gas station scene .... :)

:biglaugh: That is hilarious...I didn't pay any attention to that either. Don't even remember any kind of car with a gas filler neck up there.
