Hey y’all, so a little while ago, I converted my ‘71 6cyl to disc brakes up front, with some new spindles I got in a package deal off Craigslist. I have absolutely no idea what car they’re off of, only that it is definitely not a Maverick, as we had to do a little work on the knuckle to get them to fit right (the hole that the tie rod links up to was too small). Now, the pads are starting to go, and I want to slap some new ones on, but I have no idea what pads to get. What is the most popular car people steal 4 lug disc conversions off of for Mavericks/Mustangs?

EDIT just in case someone else has the same problem in the future: After running around town, looks like I have calipers off of an 87 Chevy Celebrity. Gross, but they work great now!

I didn't know anyone converted four lug to disc.

Only Ford possibility I can think of is M-II and I've always heard they would not fit(of course I heard other can't this & no that when I joined here that I proved otherwise). There is no upper ball joint opening in the Fox Stang spindles.

Looking like I have an old disc conversion kit that someone already put on a Mustang steering knuckle. Now I just have to figure out what conversion it is...

I have a 'Scarebird' 4 lug disc conversion with Maverick spindles used on a 61 Comet. The system uses Chevy Cavalier calipers and pads and the Rotors are Nissan. Works flawlessly for @ 10 years (and pads are still OK).

    Have fun

If you take the pads into your local auto parts store - that has a counter person with some grey whiskers - odds are pretty could he can eyeball them and tell what they came from. I have done this before with unknown parts.
