Is a voltage regulator "sized" to the output of an alternator? I installed a new altenator and I think it is higher output than my old one. Will I have to also change the voltager regulator?
    Thanks for any help

You are fine. In a regular car alternator made for use in an auto, you are fine with any 12v voltage regulator. Big rig truck alternators and super high output ones (like for an ambulance) need a heavy duty VR to match output.

Thank you for the move and the response! The new altenator is 70 amp.
