Prepped and installed a new dash tray provided by Craig's Maverick Corral. Brings back the memories from the 70's. Dash Tray.JPG

If you have a factory AC set-up, check the vacuum canister. The problem you describe is a vacuum leak. I have found the factory vacuum canister develops a leak around where the plastic goes in to the metal "tin can". A bead of silicone around this area will fix the leak.

Moving metal is easy........getting it right is frustrating as hell!!!! I have been getting a little better the more I practice and it's fun to learn a new skill.

Haha.. well there is that! I have a buddy who does body work for a living and has been saying he is going to do it for me, but he never seems to come and get the car. So, I just started doing it myself. Can't afford to have a body shop do it.

Just received my new 9 inch rear end, pumpkin with 3:70 gears with Torque-Lok, 31 spline axle shafts and 10 inch rear brakes. Started putting it together last night. Putting this on my Maverick grabber project.

Started wiring the car. Ran wires to the battery, starter, and installed wiring to the MSD ignition system.

Torqued the head bolts again, tightened EVERYTHING , made sure NOTHING is leaking .. gave the Comet a very thorough inspection for the trip June 3rd .. Leaving for the start of the HOT ROD Power Tour in Wisconsin.. then on to Illinois, Tennessee , Alabama, Mississippi , and finally ending in Baton Rouge Louisiana .. The trip will take 7 days and will truly test the Comet. Looking forward to the adventure. Anyone else out there going ??
