Instagrip is not an automotive hose and is not listed as submersible. It does however have the same compound on the inner tube as the outer cover with an a rating for resistance to fuel and oil. We sold it for use submerged in diesel and gas with no issues for decades. I wouldn't hesitate to use it but some might prefer the peace of mind using one listed as submersible.

I have an inline filter...the problem was the hose from the in tank pump to the outlet port from inside the tank. the fuel had what looked like melted the hose. looks like the aftermarket factory in tank pumps came with some cheap hose.

Finally bit the bullet and sent my Maverick to a local shop that is very good with electrical problems, and have him looking for the problem with my electric fan problems. The car runs fine and well till it hits the temp to turn on the low speed fan, 185deg, and then shuts the engine down. I have tried, but its getting close to time to start using the car for the summer, so need this fixed. Also, going to send it to a body shop for some rust removal and repair when it gets back from the electrical doc. More to follow:

It's not all that difficult to wire up anything that affects something else.

I once bought a VW that when shifted into reverse engine died. No way to keep it running. B/U lights were wired to coil.

Mine is still in the shop, an as usual, he can't duplicate the problem. He's keeping it to investigate more, and look for a clunk in the front end. He says the ball joints are still under warranty, if that is what the problem is. The rest is on me.
    More later......
