That is nice work. Looks like it was never there.

Thank you. I know it will be hidden under the carb and air cleaner, but I wanted it to look right!

I finally dropped my driveline off at the shop that does balancing around here. I am going to get rid of all my vibrations this year.....I think. I got my pinion angle to match my engine angle on the 2nd try. I cut lowering blocks in my chop saw the first time and realized afterward that my U bolts were not very tight. so when I installed the block/shim tight, it was incorrect by a lot. Second try was a success. Now the balancing should do it. I cant wait!

He does it to torture me, he lets me drive it then asks me when I’m going to get mine running.

(Reinstalled factory AC mount, factory flex-fan, aftermarket condenser and AC compressor adapter and Sandia-type compressor). Today was one of those rare golden days in the garage. I had every tool I needed. Parts snapped together like Legos. My car advanced up to one of those vistas that inspire satisfaction, even though there is a ton of work ahead. I'm going to bask in the moment and have a beer.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is this bar across the back of the engine called?

Hook up for air injection(smog pump). Remove, use bolt & large washer to block it off.

I like to call it trash. I believe that is for an air pump which would pump air into the exhaust side of the heads to dilute emissions. It is also useful for creating exhaust leaks when it starts to rust out.

Bolt and a copper washer and you'll be golden.
